Collaboration: share maps, roles, real-time editing
Mind maps show their real value in a team: in AI-MindMap several people work on the same map at the same time — with live changes, cursor tracking and clear roles. Here is how to set up collaboration.
Share a map
- Click "Share" in the editor toolbar.
- Search for team members from your Microsoft tenant.
- Assign a role and send the invitation.
The invitation appears directly in the app — invited people then see the map on their dashboard.
Roles and permissions

- The creator of a map is automatically its owner.
- Only owners can change roles or remove contributors.
Real-time collaboration
- All contributors see changes live, without reloading the page.
- Cursor tracking: the positions of other users are shown as colored dots on the canvas.
- Online indicator: the avatars of currently active users appear in the top right of the editor.
- Up to around 5 simultaneous editors per map are supported.
If the connection drops, the app reconnects automatically and reloads the current state. An "Offline" badge in the editor header indicates a lost connection — see versioning & trash for details.
Comments on nodes
Discussions happen right on the node: open the node detail panel and start a comment thread. Use @mentions to bring team members into the discussion, and mark finished threads as resolved. Feedback and decisions stay exactly where they belong.
Tasks in the team
Mark nodes as tasks and assign them to team members. Under My tasks in the sidebar, each person sees the tasks assigned to them across all maps. For synchronization with external tools, see task sync & integrations.
Frequently asked questions
How many people can work on a map at the same time?
Up to around 5 simultaneous editors per map are supported. All contributors see changes live, including the cursor positions of other users.
Who can change roles or remove contributors?
Only the owner of a map can change roles and remove contributors. The creator of a map is automatically its owner.
Do invited people receive an email?
No, the invitation to a map appears directly in the app. Invited people see the shared map on their dashboard.
