Getting started with AI-MindMap: login, dashboard, onboarding
AI-MindMap is a collaborative mind mapping application with AI support, real-time collaboration and integrations with external project management tools such as timeghost Project Board (more, like Azure DevOps, are planned). This page walks you through your first login, the dashboard and basic navigation.
Requirements
- A Microsoft account (Azure AD) for signing in
- A modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari) or Microsoft Teams
- Membership in a workspace — it is created on your first login, or you join one by invitation
First login
- Open AI-MindMap in your browser or add the app in Microsoft Teams.
- Sign in with your Microsoft account — no separate registration is needed.
- After signing in you are automatically assigned to your workspace.
- On your first visit an onboarding tour starts and shows you the key features. You can restart it any time from the help panel.
The dashboard
The dashboard is your home page and shows:
- All your mind maps, sorted by last edit
- The number of nodes and contributors per map
- Avatars of the most recent editors
- The "New mind map" button for creating a new map
Sidebar navigation
| Area | Description |

Your first mind map
There are two ways to your first map:
- Manually: Click "New mind map" and build the structure with keyboard and mouse.
- With AI: Describe your topic in the AI assistant — the AI generates a structured map in seconds that you can then edit freely.
Next steps
- Editor basics — create, edit and navigate nodes
- Keyboard shortcuts — work efficiently with hotkeys
- AI assistant — generate maps automatically
- Collaboration — share maps and work together
