Templates, import & export: PNG, PDF, SVG, XMind and more
Templates let you start new maps from proven structures, export shares results outside AI-MindMap, and import brings existing maps in from other tools. All of it on this page.
Templates
Create a template
- Open an existing map and choose "Save as template" from the menu.
- The template contains the entire node structure — without attachments and comments.
Use a template
- On the Templates page, browse all available templates.
- Click a template → "Create new map from it".
- Alternatively, pick a template directly when creating a new map.
Manage templates
- Templates can be deleted on the templates page.
- Templates are visible workspace-wide to all members.
Export
Via the export button in the toolbar, the following formats are available:

Import
Via the import dialog in the toolbar you bring in maps from other tools:

Outline view
- Open the outline via the toolbar.
- It shows the map as an indented text list.
- Node texts can be edited directly in the outline.
- Clicking an entry selects the corresponding node on the canvas.
Frequently asked questions
Which export formats does AI-MindMap support?
Via the export button in the toolbar you export your map as PNG (raster image), PDF (vector or image), SVG (scalable vector graphic), XMind (.xmind) or in the native MindMap AI format (.mmapai).
Can I import maps from other tools?
Yes. The import dialog supports XMind files (.xmind), FreeMind (.mm), OPML and structured Markdown lists.
Does a template include attachments and comments?
No. A template stores the entire node structure, but without attachments and comments. Templates are visible workspace-wide to all members.
